From 3 years ago to 2011, an estimated twelve-monthly average of 259, seven-hundred non-fatal chaotic and house hate criminal offenses victimizations occurred against individuals age 12 or elderly residing in U. S. people. Of these hate crimes, patients perceived the offender was motivated by simply bias up against the victim's faith in 21% of victimizations. The percentage of hate offences motivated simply by religious bias more than doubled in 2007-11, compared to the 10% motivated by simply religious opinion in 2003-06 (figure 1). In comparison, the percentage of hate crimes motivated by ethnic bias was slightly lower in 2007-11 (54%) than in 2003-06 (63%). The findings from this report arrived primarily through the Bureau of Justice Statistics' (BJS) Countrywide Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), which has been collecting data in crimes motivated by hate since the year 2003. The NCVS and the FBI's Uniform Offense Reports (UCR) Hate Crime Statistics Plan, which are the main sources of gross annual information on hate crime in the us, use the definition of hate offense provided in the Hate Criminal offenses Statistics Act (28 U. S. C. § 534). The act defines hate crimes since " criminal offenses that manifest evidence of bias based on contest, gender or gender personality, religion, incapacity, sexual positioning, or racial. ” The NCVS steps crimes identified by patients to be determined by an offender's bias against all of them for owned by or staying associated with an organization largely identified by these characteristics.
