Courage is the ability to do something that other folks do not go along with, but you undertake it anyways mainly because you know it is the right thing to do. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee has many personas that show courage. Nevertheless , one of the main characters, Atticus Finch, shows quite a lot of courage over the novel. Throughout the period when the novel happens (1930's) in Maycomb, The state of alabama, racism was a big " problem” in society. Atticus is a courageous lawyer and Jem and Scout will be his kids. Events that reveal bravery in the story include once Atticus defends a poor, dark man's circumstance knowing he may get belittled. Also, Atticus show another kind of courage when he takes the time to teach his children, lessons some father and mother may not teach. Lastly, Atticus shows various courageous acts, which is significant throughout the novel. Atticus Finch reveals bravery because he bravely faces the negative demands of the contemporary society within he lives.
Atticus Finch is brave for taking Ben Robinson's circumstance and defending him as thoroughly as is possible. He takes a case he knows he can't win. Atticus sees that the whole city is racist and that no person agrees with him to defend the black gentleman, Tom.
