Non-Consequentialist theories of morality are best expressed by character Inspector Javert. His actions are lead by theory it is better to business lead a existence where guidelines are implemented. It is your duty to obey the laws and it is your duty to usually act in this manner. Consequences should not be considered the moment judging an individuals actions (Thiroux, Krasemann, 2012, p. 46). Inspector Javert's position in society facilitates his activities. This guy must follow the laws collection by his government, and lead his community by simply example. His duty was going to carry out the law which are examples of rule absolutes which offer not any room to get exceptions (Thiroux, Krasemann, 2012, p. 87). The Inspector becomes obsessed with the record of Blue jean ValJean, a criminal whom must be trapped and brought to justice. The film starts with the tale of a man, Jean ValJean, who is initially introduced to the viewer in a prison placing, where afterwards you find out he was imprisoned to get theft. Following serving nine-teen years of treatment in penitentiary for his crime he could be then compensated release on parole. Subsequent his release he incurs another circumstance where he acts in contrast to those beliefs of a rule functional like Javert. These contrasting characters will be examples into their guiding guidelines. Non-Consequentialist Theories are based on the idea that consequences are not and in truth should not be one factor in determining whether the take action is moral or wrong (Thiroux, Krasemann, 2012, p. 46). Where as consequentialism is located or concerned with consequences. Jean ValJean's guiding principles are usually more of an action utilitarian whom believes that everyone should perform that act which will bring out the best good above bad for everybody affected by the act (Thiroux, Krasemann, 2012, p. 37). These ideas are contrasting because it is uncertain what activities would take greater great with or perhaps without producing exceptions towards the rules currently happening. Javert being an official from the law motivates the importance of law in the film to prevent loosing control within his community. Similarly ValJean shattered the law just to avoid the fatality of misery. These conditions are the basis of the conflicting approaches to values by each main figure in the film. ValJean runs into the Character of Bishop Myriel who offers him a career and teats him generously despite his criminal background. The Bishop is known as a positive influence on ValJean. While doing work for the Bishop, he constitutes a promise becoming a better person and redeem himself just after being caught yet again for stealing silverware through the bishop. The Bishop is to representatives only to conserve ValJean via returning to jail. With the silver precious metal that was stolen now a gift was he only able to complete his assure for a better life.
