Oedipus Rex and Antigone Composition Prompt
What would happen in the event one would have been to witness a wealthy, powerful leader who also could desire nothing more in his existence? Sounds like every thing a man could dream of, proper? What if this mighty leader had flaws that brought him to commit a grave problem that led him into a road of misery? How would that same experience feel to him today? In Sophocles' Greek disaster, Antigone, the antagonist, California king Creon, undergoes this precise scenario. Another word for a character that experiences the subsequent events is actually a tragic leading man. Creon is definitely the tragic hero of this perform because of his flaw of hubris, his hamartia, also because of his rapid changeover from like a great california king to a gloomy king which should be pitied.
The single characteristic of hubris is among the main reasons that will make Creon a tragic hero. This is first expressed when ever Creon's satisfaction refuses to display mercy to Antigone whether or not they are related. He says, " This girl is usually guilty of dual insolence, smashing the given laws and promising of it.
