DBQ- New England COMPARED TO the Chesapeake Colonies

Although Fresh England as well as the Chesapeake region were both settled simply by people of English beginning, by 1700 the parts had developed into two distinct societies. There were cultural, political, and economic differences between the two regions. The reason as to why this development happened was that the Chesapeake targeted on obtaining wealth whereas New Great britain had solid religious beliefs.

With different desired goals in mind, the 2 regions separated due to the main difference of what the two groups needed. Socially, The Chesapeake acquired settled in the area for precious metal and riches. With no other goal in mind, it was tough for the Chesapeake to produce families and stable homes. Not to mention the uneven males to girl ratio as well as the lack of food supply for the Chesapeake (Document C). That they set up plantations and made profit from tobacco. The modern England location consisted of Puritans who desired to purify the church and escape faith based persecution because of how negative and damaged the Cathedral of England was. If the New England region were first starting to settle, they'd no goal to make virtually any profit or were captivated with finding platinum like the Chesapeake. Instead, that they wanted to create a place had been they may worship readily. A very important big difference between the Chesapeake and Fresh England is that they (New England) arrived at the region in families (Document B). For that reason, the population presently there grew on its own, creating secure families having a better proportion between guy and woman, in comparison to The Chesapeake, who fought to create households and make the population develop. The Chesapeake had a smaller sized population when being when compared to New Britain for the only fact that Fresh England had more women inside their region. Equally regions had trouble and tension with Native Americans.
